Information and purposes
We process information you provide when ordering, creating an account or contacting us: name, email, telephone, address, order items, amounts, status and, where relevant, company name, VAT number and invoice reference. Serial numbers and case notes may be linked to orders for delivery, returns and service. Account details support login and access to your orders. Processing is necessary to enter into or perform the contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Without essential contact and delivery details, we cannot process the order.
Information required for statutory bookkeeping is processed under Article 6(1)(c). Technical information and security logs may be processed under Article 6(1)(f) for our legitimate interests in protecting the webshop, preventing misuse and documenting claims. Google Analytics statistics rely on consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Laptop finder answers are used to display suggestions and are not stored as a customer profile. We do not make automated decisions with legal effects on you.
Who receives information?
Staff with a work-related need have access. Businesses preparing, dispatching or servicing your device receive information needed for that task, such as name, shipping address, relevant contact details and order items. Carriers, hosting and IT providers and accounting advisers may receive necessary information. Authorities may receive information where legally required. Google receives analytics data if you accept analytics. We do not sell your personal information. Stripe receives your email address, order reference, items and payment amount to process payment. You provide card details directly to Stripe.
How long do we keep information?
Order and financial records constituting accounting material are normally retained for five years after the end of the relevant financial year. Other information is kept as long as necessary for the account, a specific enquiry, warranty, defect claim or legal claim. The period depends on the purpose and whether a case remains open; the accounting requirement does not by itself justify retaining every type of data. You can request account closure and deletion of unnecessary information. Records still needed for statutory bookkeeping or a specific legal claim cannot always be deleted at the same time.
Processing outside the EU/EEA
Using Google may involve processing outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Such transfers require a valid legal mechanism, such as an applicable adequacy decision or EU standard contractual clauses with necessary supplementary measures. Contact us for information about the specific mechanism and a copy of relevant safeguards for processing concerning you.
Your rights and complaints
You can request access, correction, erasure, restriction and data portability where the conditions apply. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent. Email [email protected]; we may request information needed to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month.
You can complain to Datatilsynet in Denmark or the relevant supervisory authority in your country of residence. You are welcome to contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.
